Civil Engineer (PE) Position
Element Design is looking for a Full-Time licensed Civil Engineer for our Louisville, KY office. We are looking for motivated and team-oriented candidates with leadership skills and experience working on Civil Engineering design projects, including stormwater, sanitary, and water distribution. This position will work independently and in collaboration with the Senior Engineer in Lexington and firm Principals to provide excellent service to our existing clients while helping to grow our Civil Engineering services.
Responsibilities and Duties
Civil Engineering design primarily for the Louisville office, but as needed for all Element office locations.
Production of drawings and specifications relative to design for all aspects of site design, including storm water management and sustainable infrastructure design; site utilities including water, gas and sanitary service.
Development of and participation in firm marketing efforts.
Coordination with the Civil Engineering team to help develop and grow the Civil Engineering team and services in all locations. Assist Element’s Senior Civil Engineer / Engineering Team leader with leadership and direction of the Engineering Services; take the lead in developing and growing the Louisville office’s Engineering team and services.
In-house coordination of site design with both senior and junior staff.
Coordination with various consultants and owner representatives; coordination and permitting with various agencies.
Perform site visits as needed to document findings in the field.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering, PE license (Kentucky) required.
Minimum 5 years of experience working in a Site Civil department.
Strong preference for experience working in the Louisville Metro area.
Demonstrated educational and / or work experience showing strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Experience participating in team meetings and interacting with clients.
Experience / proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D required.
Self-motivated and able to work independently on multiple tasks.
Willingness to perform a variety of activities as needed by the team.
