New Science Building

Eastern Kentucky University

The first phase of site implementation establishes a unique relationship between the landscape and the building through shared design features such as the representation of the solar system extending from the interior floors to the exterior pavement.  A dry stream bed captures and treats  stormwater run-off through biofiltration and provides educational opportunities with water collection wells and concrete flumes for monitoring water quality.  A geologic timeline is represented through granite curbing within the plaza.
